TruKalc – Essick’s New Evaporative Cooler Sizing Tool

The TruKalc program is an evaporative cooler sizing tool for estimating the size of cooler(s) needed for a particular job. There are two methods that can be used to determine cooler size: the Heat Load Method or the Minutes Per Air Change Method. Using one of these two methods and inputting the design conditions for the job location, you will receive a list of Champion Cooler units that best fit the job. This list can show all available units or can be limited to a type of unit desired.

From the list derived based on your inputs, you may select the desired unit and add it to a separate project web page. From this page you will have access to specification sheets, drawings, performance curves and submittal sheets for that unit. You may view these from the website or download them to your personal computer. The submittal sheet shows additional items that may be needed for your project; this would include such things as motors, pulleys, belts and pumps. The program also allows you to run several scenarios from the first Requirement web page and add multiple units to the Project web page.

With More than 1,900 exhibitors showing their products at the recent International Home & Housewares Show in Chicago, even the most thorough attendee was hard-pressed to see them all. So HFN has simplified the process by choosing the best of the best.

The idea of an air-treatment product being designed to look like furniture might seem obvious, but such products have not been seen at retail —until now. During the International Home and Housewares Show, Essick Air introduced the EP9 500 Pedestal humidifier, which is designed to look like a mahogany piece of furniture. On top is a decorative tile inset that resembles a marble tile, which can serve as a surface for a plant, vase or figurine. This tile can be replaced with any standard 12-by-12-inch tile to fit any room’s decor. The Pedestal is quite a performer, too. It humidifies up to 2,000 square feet and provides 9 gallons of output every day. It also features digital control and variable speed motor, along with an automatic humidistat and automatic shutoff. The reservoir hold 3.5 gallons and offers a front pour-in opening for easy filling. Also, the Pedestal is made with four caster wheels, which enable it to be moved easily to any room in the home.
